TEDx Heritage Girls School

Heritage Girls School launched the National Cooking Competition in 2016 to provide a platform for young students to experiment with flavours, creativity and new ideas. The tradition has continued with the enthusiastic participation of students from across the country. Teen Chef Heritage is the school’s national cooking competition for boys and girls in the age group of 9–16 years.

The competition celebrates creativity, presentation, innovation and taste. Young chefs get an opportunity to showcase their culinary talent and develop their own ideas through food. The event also brings together experienced chefs and culinary professionals, whose presence and feedback have inspired young participants over the years.

The competition is being relaunched as TEEN CHEF HERITAGE 2026–27 with the theme “Food That Tells a Story”. Participants are encouraged to present dishes that communicate a story, inspiration, cultural or traditional connection, or personal significance

REGISTRATION / ONLINE SUBMISSION

  • Online registration will open on 1st October 2026.
  • All entries must be submitted ONLY through the official Teen Chef Heritage registration form on the Heritage Girls School website. Email submissions will not be accepted.

  • Last date for registration and online submission: 15th November 2026.
  • Participants must select ONE category — Snacks, Dessert or Main Course — in the online registration form and submit their entry as required through the form.

ELIGIBILITY & PARTICIPATION

  • Boys and girls in the age group of 9–16 years are eligible to participate.
  • Maximum participants per school: 3.
  • No entry fee.
  • Wild Card Entry: 2.

RULES & IMPORTANT GUIDELINES

  • Only vegetarian dishes are invited.
  • Preservatives, added colours and white sugar are not permitted.
  • Entries should reflect the theme “Food That Tells a Story” through the dish, ingredients, presentation and/or concept.
  • Each participant must submit one original entry in one category only.
  • The submitted photograph should clearly showcase the prepared dish and the participant’s culinary presentation.
  • The detailed recipe must include ingredients, quantities and method of preparation.
  • Participants must provide a brief note explaining the story, inspiration, cultural/traditional connection or personal significance behind the dish.
  • Recipes and photographs submitted for the competition should be the participant’s own work. Plagiarised or substantially copied entries may be disqualified.
  • All participants must follow appropriate food hygiene and safety practices.
  • Participants/parents or guardians must ensure that all information entered in the registration form is accurate and complete.
  • Late or incomplete submissions may not be considered.
  • The organisers reserve the right to shortlist entries and to amend the competition schedule or rules, if required.

PRIZE MONEY

  • Total cash prize: ₹45,000
  • ₹15,000 for the First Prize winner in each category: Snacks, Dessert and Main Course.
  • The winner will also receive a memento and a cookery book.
  • Certificates will be given to all participants.

IMPORTANT EVENT INFORMATION

  • Online registration opens: 1st October 2026.
  • Registration deadline: 15th November 2026.
  • Teen Chef Heritage 2026–27: 30–31 January 2027 at Heritage Girls School, Udaipur.
  • Selected participants will be informed separately regarding the schedule and further arrangements.
